Creative Connections: Card Game

Creative Connections is a collaborative card game I developed to help new art directors practice giving feedback in a low pressure environment. I spent a year sketching, testing and refining the game as part of my MFA thesis at the University of Baltimore.

Process

When I started my art direction career, I struggled with giving feedback to artists and illustrators. I looked for resources but found none. This inspired me to create a game to practice giving feedback in context that simulates real world art direction conversations.

I made paper prototypes out of index cards and had people test the game. Their experiences playing the game and feedback informed improvements for future iterations. The game is currently in a prototype phase as I continue to test and refine it.
